Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We demonstrated long range and highly sensitive measurement with a high spatial resolution based on phase noise compensated-OFDR (PNC-OFDR) employing a single sideband suppressed carrier (SSB-SC) modulator and a narrow linewidth fibre laser (FL) as a tunable light source, a concatenative reference method and high-speed frequency sweeping. The measurement range was extended to 40km. A spatial resolution of 1m was achieved over 40km with high rate frequency sweeping. A sensitivity of about -30dB was realized (relative to the Rayleigh backscattering level). It appears almost impossible to realize both a spatial resolution of 1m and a sensitivity of -30dB simultaneously over 40km with the conventional OTDR technique.
