Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report describes development of CFRP/FBG for utilizing FBG as sensing devices and its application to inclination sensing. Today, disaster monitoring sensor have been paid attentions since in tihis country disasters often occur due to abnormal weather conditions and therefore a number of monitoring systems may be constructed by using high-technology and devices, such as FBG. However, in the use of FBG, we have lot of technical difficulties, for example, in fixing FBG to the observation bodies effectively and in converting target physical phenomena to optical wavelength change of reflected light from FBG with high accuracy. In this report, we propose FBG/CFRP sensor element by using CFRP with FBG for overcoming these problems. The technology is applied to inclination sensor that is one of important disaster monitoring sensors. We have obtained good results from the trial to apply FBG more practically.
