Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) attracts much attention for enhancement of communication capacity, due to its high spectral efficiency. On the other hand, compared to the conventional optical modulation format, the modulation format is sensitive to distortion of the signal so that treatment of the signal is to be difficult at creation, transmission and detection. In this paper, we propose a method for thresholds adjustment so as to be adaptive against the distortion of the optical QAM signal, and demonstrate demodulation of a optical QAM signal by the method, by paying attention to use of DSP-technology-based demodulation technique.
