Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a 6-level PSK modulation format that enables smooth migration from 40Gb/s to 100Gb/s. The 6-PSK format enables a 2.5-bits/symbol assignment, thus the symbol rate becomes exactly a 40-Gsymbol/s for 100-Gb/s system. A system configuration and an efficient signal generation are proposed and analyzed. An experimental study is conducted at 10.7 Gsymbol/s (26.8Gb/s) to demonstrate a feasibility of 6-PSK based system.
