Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A OCDM-PON using FBG based optical correlators as encoders/decoders is suitable to realize an asynchronous PON because of its simple system architecture. In this report, transmission characteristics of a loopback OCDM-PON, which does not have any optical sources in ONUs, are experimentally investigated. In a loopback OCDM-PON, even optical carrier signals for uplink connections are supplied from OLTs. Loopback transmission characteristics are experimentally shown in a single user case and synchronous/asynchronous OCDM cases for two users. Experimental results suggest that an asynchronous OCDM-PON is better than a synchronous one if a good orthogonal code giving low cross correlation characteristics could be used.
