Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) FBG based optical correlators are low polarization dependent, low loss and highly stable; therefore, those are preferable as encoders/decoders for optical code division multiplexing (OCDM) systems. A FBG; however, is fixed in fabrication; therefore different correlators have to be prepared for different codewords. In this report, a programmable FBG based variable optical correlator (PFVOC), which is able to switch codewords by using thermo electric controllers and a microprocessor, is proposed. Switching codewords in a group of Hadamard code of length four is demonstrated experimentally. Futhermore, from dependencies on surrounding temparature in an air conditioned experimental room, it is shown that BER would be fluctuated in double/triple figures.
