Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Gaze and facial expressions play a large part in our daily communication. However, there are some arguments concerning what kind of social information they enable us to exchange and what mechanism support such an interfacing process. In this lecture, I would like to theoretically examine the basic nature and function of human gaze, facial expressions, and social referencing, and then discuss some related problems.
