Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Development of tunable optical filters has been expected for improvement of data transmission capacitance in optical communications. In this report, we propose a tunable frequency filter with a photorefractive (PR) waveguide. It is able to induce index gratings having arbitrary wavelength by radiation of low power interfering light in the PR materials. The PR waveguide is therefore promising device to be applied to optical filters and switches. We analyze the filtering property such as diffraction efficiency and bandwidth. We consider suppression method of channel crosstalk using PR two-wave mixing.
