Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | IEEE802.15.3c Task Group 3 is established for the standardization of millimeter-wave wireless personal area networks (WPAN). This new generation of WPANs will operate in the 57-64GHz band in USA, which can be used for unlicensed communication according to the FCC decision in 2001. Similar bands are selected by other countries such as Japan's 59-66GHz band. One of the important properties of the 60GHz WPAN is providing data rates in the order of Gbps with low bit error rate performance. The proposal from the Consortium for the Practical Application of Millimeter Wave (CoMPA), led by National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), Japan employs single-carrier transmission due to its advantages over orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), such as lower peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), enabling the use of cheaper power amplifier and ADC circuits. COMPA uses different methods in three parts of the data frame (preamble, header, payload) to achieve performance requirements set by IEEE. In this paper we will study new preamble design methodology. We will explain 4 different preamble types (long, medium, ahort and extrashort) and 3 preample parts synchronization, start frame delimiter and channel estimation sequence. Additionaly, we compared short and extrashort preamble performances are compared. |
