Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In Japan, current terrestrial analogue TV broadcasting service will be completely digitized on July 24th, 2011. Frequency allocation plan after the transition had been vigorously discussed and the relevant policy report was published last year. The report said that the 35MHz band between 170MHz and 205MHz should be used for public safety by owned-operated communication system shared by multiple public organizations such as fire departments, police agencies, local public authorities etc. Our institute has been considering the technical and operational conditions to realize this new system. Since there has been little broadband wireless system in the VHF band, we have conducted basic radio propagation experiments. Using the signals with the occupied bandwidth up to 10MHz and centre frequency of 190MHz, received signal power, delay profile, fading performance were measured. This paper describes the experimental results.
