Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a new channel coding scheme that simultaneously achieves both peak power reduction and coding gain based on a periodic insertion of redundant symbols. This scheme achieves peak power reduction of 1-2dB with low-complexity encoding/decoding processes. Furthermore, by concatenating this code with another channel code and utilizing the turbo (iterative) decoding process at the receiver, the proposed system can achieve a coding gain as large as that of conventional turbo codes.
