Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This paper proposes a signal discrimination technique for multiple optical signal streams using an spatial power distribution detection technique and applies it to the spatial division and time division multiple access (SD/TDMA) for the hybrid-line of sight (LOS) indoor optical wireless communication systems. In the proposed SDMA scheme, each terminal simultaneously transmits its data stream, and the signals are detected by plural receivers, where the receivers are located in different positions so that the spatial intensity distribution of the combined optical received signals can be detected. Because the spatial intensity distribution is subject to the data pattern of the transmitted signals from the terminals, the data streams can be discriminated by the observation of the spatial intensity distribution. When the proposed SDMA is further combined with TDMA, a slot scheduling process is further employed in which user signals with high signal discriminatory for the spatial intensity distribution are allocated to the same time slot to enhance system throughput. |
