Abstract(in English) We propose a smart antenna with a simple structure for ISDB receiving. The antenna hardware is the phased array with analogue phase shifters and a power combiner of the operational amplifier. This configuration realizes the phase diversity. By changing cost functions for adaptive beamforming, we use the same system as either the phase diversity antenna or the adaptive antenna. Because GI is used for calculation of the cost function and the system is used under fast fading environments, a rapid convergence algorithm is desired. We apply the symplex method for the optimization algorithm. We confirmed 3 to 5dB improvement of diversity gain in comparison with the selective diversity by the numerical simulation. And we developed a trial model, and were able to confirm adaptive beamforming and multipath cancellation in the field.
