Abstract(in English) Recently, the services (IMT-2000, Bluetooh, WiMAX) for the cellular phone are spread. Therefore, the wider bandwidth antenna for handsets is required. In the previous paper, the U-shaped folded dipole antenna has been introduced and its characteristics has been analyzed, which has three resonance characteristics and a wider bandwidth. In this paper, in order to research the broadband characteristics of a folded dipole antenna, we investigate fundamental characteristics of the planar folded dipole antenna with a feed line (PFDA). As a result, we confirm that it has broadband characteristics, when the length of a feed line is λ/4. And then, we introduce the new structure of the three-dimensional folded dipole antenna with a feed line, which is 16% of the feed line size and 81% of the antenna length of PFDA, maintaining broadband characteristics.
