Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a new method called quasi-separation of variables for looking for plasmonic modes in metallic tapered structures. This new method allows for finding solutions to the wave equation for a magnetic field that satisfies boundary conditions at all points on the continuous surface of tapered structures. In this paper, we describe a superfocusing mode of surface plasmon polaritons in the metallic conical structures, whose radial function has a logarithmic phase singularity at the cone apex and closely approximates the Bessel function of imaginary order.
