Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents the detection of dead tree by using Ku-band fully polarimetric SAR (POLSAR) system in anechoic chamber. The difference between dead tree and raw tree is liquid water content. We choose Ku-band fully POLSAR data as next generation airborne and satellite SAR application because of the ability to detect surface moisture on Ku-band microwave. We use two analytical methods to detect the changes of raw tree and dead tree. One is coherent method, and another is incoherent method. This paper presents incoherent or coherent decomposition results obtained by fully polarimetric FM-CW radar. As the result, the possibility of the dead tree detection as application of radar polarimetry is confirmed.
