Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We clarified the acousto-optic coupling characteristics of a hole-assisted fiber (HAF) numerically and experimentally. We numerically show that the HAF beat length between the guided and first-higher order modes has the small wavelength dependence compared with that of the single-mode fiber and so we can achieve broadband acousto-optic coupling. Ultra-broadband acousto-optic coupling whose bandwidth reaches 120nm is realized by using a HAF and the bandwidth can be controlled by designing the air hole structure.
