Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The demand for wireless applications based on bidirectional communication such as voice telephony and peer-to-peer has been increasing, and it has caused the rapid increase of uplink traffic from wireless terminals. However, in uplink WLANs, the hidden-terminal problem remains to be solved. This problem causes significant unfairness of communication quality between different transport protocols. In this paper, we propose a scheme that solves the above problem by grouping terminals based on the topology and the transport protocols and by assigning an dedicated transmission-permitted period to each group. The proposed scheme can suppress performance degradation in hidden-terminal topologies and can adaptively control throughput by adjusting the transmission-permitted period. The effectiveness of our scheme is verified by simulations.
