Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This study examined whether or not adult native speakers of Japanese infer meaning from case particles when they learn novel verbs. Findings who that they map the verbs according to the aspect that they cut out from the causative event through case particles. This suggests that semantic inference of verbs has two stages: (1) establishment of the argument structure by means of the noun phrase and nominative case marker 'ga' and (2) cutting out of the event based on the argument structure.
