Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Using wave theory, we examined the influences of characteristic impedance, absorption coefficients of longitudinal and share waves in an acoustic lens on focusing field. When the medium density of the lens is changed, the focusing gain is in good agreement with the results predicted by the characteristic impedance. When the longitudinal wave absorption coefficient is changed, and the lens is assumed to be planar, the thickness of the lens agrees roughtly with one predicted by geometry. Additionally, the theory demonstrates that the longitudinal wave absorption coefficients have a great influence on the gain. Whereas the absorption coefficient of the share wave does not affect on the focused field. As another theoretical prediction for lens performance in place of the wave theory, the basic idea of the FDTD method is proposed.
