Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The UWB (Ultra Wide Band) system recently has been applied to various fields such as wireless USB (Universal Serial Bus), radar system, and so on. Furthermore, the UWB system has been expected to be used near the human body in the standardization of the WBAN (Wireless Body Area Network) system. In this paper, a UWB antenna, which operates at 7.25 to 10.25GHz and is able to be worn as a wristwatch, is proposed. This band can be used UWB communication in Japan, and is not necessary to append DAA (Detect And Avoid) mechanism. As the characteristics of proposed antenna in the near- and far-field regions, the electric field distributions near the human arm and radiation patterns are shown, respectively. From these results, it is confirmed that the propagation to the tip of a human arm is advantage than the back direction and vertical electric component is dominant mode. Therefore, the antenna is useful as the UWB antenna for wristwatch type.
