Dependency on Joint with Different Shape and Shielding Effectiveness

Abstract(in English) One of the noise control methods of electronic equipment is a shield with the metallic chassis. It is necessary to change the shape of the joint to improve the shielding effectiveness of the electric field. In this report, the shielding effectiveness on the joint of section shape was calculated using 2-dimensional FDTD method, and was measured with metal plate in the shield room. And the shielding effectiveness of the same models was also calculated using 3-dimensional FI method, and each characteristic were compared. From measurement and calculate result, the shielding effectiveness of L-form model with the fold of joint is about 4dB greater than it of normal model without fold, and the shielding effectiveness is improved by bonding joint and obstacle to protect from the penetration of the electric field. As a result, to study the section shape for shielding, 2-dimensional analysis is effective. In addition, the relation between the section shape size and the shielding effectiveness was calculated with 2-dimensional FDTD method. Result, the shielding effectiveness increases when the joint depth becomes deeper, but when the joint clearance becomes wider, the shielding effectiveness attenuates. Therefore, in actual design, it is effective to bring the joint close more narrowly.
