Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We consider multiuser detection in a randomly-spread frequency-selective block-fading DS-CDMA channel with imperfect CSI at the receiver. We evaluate upper bounds of the spectral efficiencies of two optimal multiuser detectors (MUDs) in large-system limit, by using the so-called replica method, in order to compare them with the spectral efficiency of LMMSE MUD, proposed by Evans and Tse. We find that the LMMSE MUD achieves near-optimal performance for high SNR and small system load if the length of pilot sequences is appropriately adjusted.
