Abstract(in English) | Currently, IEEE 802.22 Wireless Regional Area Networks (WRAN), which utilize cognitive radio technology, has been standardized. In IEEE 802.22 WRAN system, in order to prevent the in-use channel from interfering with the incumbent services such as TV broadcast effectively, dynamic frequency hopping (DFH) has been proposed. However, when multiple WRAN cells operate DFH, strict coordination is required for those cells. As a result, it is difficult to use DFH if the number of WRAN cells is large. In this paper, we propose collision-free channel selection with priority information so that WRAN cells can utilize channels effectively without strict coordination. The proposed method utilizes rank information which denotes the channel usage information. By using this rank information for channel switching, a limited number of channels can be used effectively. In addition, the proposed method utilizes the number of failures for channel switching in order to avoid the collision. We evaluate the performance of the proposed method by simulation, and we investigate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Numerical examples show that the proposed method can avoid the failure of channel switching. In addition, it is shown that a limited number of channels can be utilized effectively by using the proposed method. |
