Abstract(in English) | It is the purpose of this paper to analyze radiation characteristics of a microstrip patch antenna with a metamaterial substrate in time domain. Since the metamaterial is a dispersive one, constitutive relations of the metamaterial are modeled by the Lorentz model. Introducing ADE-FDTD method that is one of the FDTD methods for dispersive media, we have derived FDTD update equations for electromagnetic field inside the metamaterial. Numerical results for the microstrip patch antenna with the metamaterial substrate present that the proposed antenna shows interesting radiation patterns. |
