Abstract(in English) | The degree of imperfection was defined as the independent intrinsic index of the degree of degraded contrast ratio for each component material to analyze the light leakage in the black state. We clarified that color filters and liquid crystal layers drastically degrade the contrast ratio because of the light leakage caused by their scattered light. The direct observation of color filters by using STEM and the scattering index of liquid crystal layer gives the effective guidelines for reducing light leakage intensity. By using these guidelines, we have made an IPS-Pro LCD with the contrast ratio of 1500:1. |
