Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently the representation of force feedback from virtual organs is actively investigated in the research field of virtual reality in medicine. There are many works that aim to represent the characteristics of force feedback from soft tissues of human bodies. However, most of the works do not evaluate reality of the characteristics. Although some works estimate physical parameters from force feedback, there are few works that estimate the characteristics of force feedback from virtual objects by using actual parameters. When we compare the characteristics between the force feedback from virtual objects with that from real ones, psychophysical assessments are necessary. The purpose of this work is to represent characteristics of force feedback from a soft object in virtual space by using physical and morphological parameters measured from the real object. In order to evaluate the property of virtual object, we have carried out a psychophysical assessment.
