Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This article investigates a sound field reproduction method based on the spatial impression. Wave surface control and convoluting head related transfer function are major techniques for sound field control. However, we can consider that the spatial impressions of a sound field, which perceived through a pair of ears, are reproduced by preserving the relative relationship between each observation points even if the wave surface is so not controlled completely. The author Takahashi et al. proposed a new sound field reproduction method which controlled the point-to-point covariance in a sound field [19th ICA, RBA15-012]. We expect that the sound field reproduction method based on the spatial covariance (SORPAC) is applied to a down-mixing of a multichannel contents, for the SORPAC does not require the sound sources localization and transfer functions. This article discussed about the SORPAC and general sound field control in frequency domain. And it was confirmed that the SORPAC is able to reproduce the sound source direction without the wave surface control. Then, we present a multichannel contents down-mixing as an application of SORPAC.
