Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) SELENE (SELenological and ENgineering Explorer) project has started as a joint mission of ISAS (Institute of Space and Astronautical Science) and NASDA (National Space Development Agency of Japan) of Japan since 1998. SELENE (KAGUYA) was launched by H-IIA launch vehicle on 14th September, 2007 from Tanegashima Space Center. SELENE is the first large-sized moon probe satellite that has observation instruments for 15 missions including 2 sub-satellites, and its purposes are to obtain scientific data to analyze the origin and the evolution of the moon, and to develop technology for the lunar orbit insertion and spacecraft attitude and orbit control. The data from this mission is also used to investigate the possibility of future lunar utilization. In this paper, we report the operation result of KAGUYA (SELENE) on orbit.
