Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) While measuring magnetoencephalographic (MEG) signals, these are corrupted by large magnetic artifacts, such as cardiac, eye movements, and muscle activities. Since these artifacts are extremely large compared to the signal from the brain, it is essential to remove the effect of artifacts properly. This report proposes a method to identity the magnetic artifacts and remove them using Hierarchical Bayesian estimation. By using proper prior information, we show that this method can estimate current of artifacts and cortical activities, and correct multiple magnetic artifacts. Additionally, our results indicated that our method improves the estimation of cortical current.
