Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a highly efficient and accurate image retrieval method, which utilizes geographical meta information applied to image data. Despite the computational cost necesssary to execute content-based image retrieval, existing methods are not able to provide satisfactory retrieval results to system users. In this paper, we propose a method to first conduct clustering based on the location where the image is photographed, which can be applied with GPS functions of current mobile phones. Results of evaluation experiments conducted by our prototype system indicate that the proposed method is effective to extract intuitively meaningful image retrieval results.
