Abstract(in English) | In the use of a surveillance camera, the requirement of privacy protection may be considered. This paper proposes a new privacy protection method by automatically degrading the face region in surveillance images. The proposed method consists of the ROI coding of JPEG2000 and the face detection method based on the template matching. In this paper, we also propose a template generation technique with arbitrary size by using an assumption that the shape of the face region is an ellipse. From the experimental result, we show that the face region in the image can be detected correctly. This fact indicates that the privacy for a man in image can also be protected by degrading this region. |
