Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) networks, blocking probability becomes higher as number of hops to destination increases because the same wavelength has to receive on all links. Blocking probability can get lower by using wavelength converter. However, it is difficult to equipment wavelength converter to all nodes due to too expensive. In this paper, we proposed a new optical wavelength path establishment method with wavelength converter based on number of hops. We set threshold to number of hops to destination. Our basic idea is to select a route via wavelength converter request more than threshold. Our methods is to achieve lower blocking probability and fewer number of wavelength converters by applying our algorithm for request more than threshold. In our simulation, we showed our method is low blocking probability and fewer number of wavelength converter than any other existing methods.
