Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A novel image registration algorithm for super-resolution is proposed. It has been observed that, by using a conventional algorithm, matching points tend to be placed near the pixels in the low-resolution grid when aperture problem occurs, for example, in the case of processing straight edges. As a result of this phenomenon, the high-resolution images are not efficiently reconstructed. The proposed method estimates matching points on the shifted image whose image grid is shifted by a desired subpixel displacement. By using the proposed method, the distribution of the matching points is artificially biased so that the quality of the reconstructed image is improved. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated in experiments.
