| Abstract(in English) | Satellite communication systems using ATC (Ancillary Terrestrial Components) have been recently drawing a significant deal of attention, where terrestrial networks supplement satellite networks when satellite networks are unable to use. In ATC satellite communications, an identical small mobile terminal can be used in both satellite networks and terrestrial networks by using common frequency bands. Based on the same concept as ATC, "Satellite/Terrestrial Integrated Mobile Communication System" has been proposed to ensure the telecommunication services even in the case of disasters, anytime and anywhere. The proposed "Satellite/Terrestrial Integrated Mobile Communication System" is expected to use the common frequency bands by sharing the frequency band assigned to satellite systems with terrestrial mobile communication systems, aiming at efficient frequency utilization and easy implementation of satellite/terrestrial dual use mobile terminal. This report discusses the frequency sharing issue for "Satellite/Terrestrial Integrated Mobile Communication System". It shows the frequency sharing conditions derived from the antenna pattern on board the satellite, and describes the cellular configurations of satellite and terrestrial systems, re-usable frequency bandwidth and re-usable frequency channels. |
