Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) systems in which multiple antennas are used at both the transmitter and receiver, in order to make the MIMO systems perform well, the receiver generally does rank prediction and feeds back the prediction results to the transmitter. Rank prediction includes prediction of spatial multiplexing order and selection of the transmission format response to each data stream. The MIMO design has two modes of operation: the single-code word (SCW) and the multiple-code word (MCW). In this paper, we propose a rank prediction with consideration of transmit diversity for MCW MIMO systems. Simulation results show that in 4×4 MIMO systems the proposed scheme achieves up to 32.5% improvement in terms of spectrum efficiency compared to the rank prediction without transmit diversity.
