Abstract(in English) | This report shows that a real-time Gaussian multicarrier (GMC) transmitter can be implemented on an FPGA board in order to verify feasibility of the GMC transmitter. Since GMC employs the Gaussian waveform shaping, spectral sidelobe suppression of each subcarrier is superior, which can easily realize sharp spectral roll-off. After IFFT which an OFDM transmitter usually conducts, the implemented real-time GMC transmitter performs the Gaussian waveform shaping of which truncation duration is three-symbol long. The implemented transmitter can realize the maximum transmission rate of 147 Mbps. When the DAC output signals are experimentally converted to 2GHz RF band, the GMC transmitter shows a very sharp and deep spectral dip less than -40dB by a carrier hole of three subcarriers. In addition, the transmission performance is evaluated under a condition that a narrowband interfering signal exists in the carrier hole. Furthermore, a computer simulation calculates an average bit error rate (BER) by using information on the transmitted signal generated in the FPGA board, and shows that its BER agrees well with a result of a computer simulation for the whole transmission system using the floating point. |
