Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In a chaotic coded modulation, uncorrelated sequences of chaos are utilized for the distance enhancement of nearest codewords. To achieve a secure and efficient transmission, the chaotic modulation was combined with the trellis code and the channel gain is obtained from these two convolutions of trellis and chaos. In principle, the performance will be improved towards Shannon limit under the unlimited code-constraint and decoding complexity. However, the relationship among 'desired packet error rate', 'received SNR', and 'required decoding complexity' is not clarified on this scheme under a limited decoding cost. In this report, to analyze this relationship we derive the theoretical probability of decoding error on the quasi-maximum likelihood sequence estimation of the chaotic coded modulation. Then, we compare the decoding error probability with simulation results.
