A Proposal of Retransmission Scheme with Power Allocation Based on Bit Error Estimation of Relay Station in Cooperative Communication

Abstract(in English) In cooperative communication, a space diversity gain can be obtained by cooperation of the multiple nodes with a single antenna in uplink of wireless communication. The many researches which have been considered so far assume the data can be informed to the relay node without error. However, in practical case, the data is not always received correctly at the relay node due to multipath fading, shadowing and noise. Therefore, the occurrence of bit error at the relay node significantly affects the error rate performance at the destination node. In this paper, we propose a novel retransmission scheme. In the proposed scheme, the source node detects the relay node's data by utilizing the nature of broadcasting of radio transmission and the erroneous bit at the relay node is estimated. After that, the transmission power control for correcting the erroneous bit at the relay node is performed when retransmission is ordered from the destination node. From the computer simulation, we show that the proposed scheme can achieve the better error rate performance than the scheme without transmission power control.
