Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Millimeter-wave 60-GHz wireless personal area networks (WPANs) will provide data rates in the order of Gbps. As one of strong candidates in the physical layer designs, the single carrier frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) has been paid a lot of attentions due to its simplicity and acceptable performance. However zero forcing (ZF)/minimum mean square error (MMSE) equalization, working as two types of FDE in the current schemes, greatly limit the detection ability. In order to meet with the performance requirement, much stronger channel code, much longer spreading sequence have to be employed, which, on the other hand, extremely decrease the system transmit efficiency. Furthermore near 2 times calculation load at the terminal side comparing with OFDM systems may also make the system infeasible. As one of the possible solution, in this paper, the pre-equalization scheme based on the cross-layer design on both the physical layer and MAC layer is proposed and investigated in WPANs. The physical structure is designed so that the mobile terminal is simplified without increasing any circuit complexity in the PNC. Based on the carefully designed physical structure, the MAC layer protocol is also proposed following IEEE 802.15.3c standard to successfully obtain the down-link channel from up-link. Both theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the proposed scheme can achieve around 2.5 dB gains comparing to the SC-FDE-MMSE proposal. The proposal makes the system much more implementable in the future 60GHz WPANs.
