Abstract(in English) We have been studying a unified micro-cellular network named MM-MAN (Mobile Multimedia Metropolitan Area Network). Micro-cellular networks are considered to be deployed in metropolitan area where the population is high. The studies has been conducted from the view of the network, and focused on the layer above the physical layer which can present success or failure for each packet transfer. Here, this paper digests the papers on MM-MAN in order to hear the comments from the wireless interface engineers taking opportunity of the general meeting on radio interfaces. It includes advantages of the unified micro-cellular network, service prospects to the unified micro-cellular entwork, problems of the micro-cellular network, the countermeasures of the frequent handover disturbing smooth packet transfer to fast terminals, distribution of the packet transfer and mobility control processing to allow the scalability of system capacity, and the means to overcome the local congestions which easily happens in micro-cellular networks.
