A Study of Unauthorized Access Prevention Method for Delayed Congestion Control Systems

Abstract(in English) During events such as a questionnaire on TV programs, an enormous amount of access requests can be triggered in a short period of time. In such a case, the server may get unstable or incapacitated, and users may not be able to access the server. To solve this problem, we have developed a congestion control system that suspends the users' requests temporarily. However, since no authentication function is implemented on the developed system, malicious users who have no intention to follow the predetermined protocol can easily connect the server. Consequently, the developed congestion control system might not work well. This paper proposes a prevention method of unauthorized illegal access for the developed system. The proposed method verifies whether the user is authorized or not by utilizing the decryption-key for authentication information encrypted by the Time-Release Encryption. Furthermore, since the proposed certification method requires low computational load, it can be implemented on devices that have low computational ability such as cellular phones,.
