Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In ubiquitous Wireless LANs (WLANs), Mobile Nodes (MNs) are likely to frequently execute handovers between WLANs with different IP subnets during TCP communication. Although we proposed the handover management scheme based on the number of frame retransmissions to achieve seamless handover, the previous scheme cannot apply to WLANs supporting rate adaptation (multi-rate WLANs), thereby causing further the performance anomaly in a WLAN. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new seamless handover management scheme resolving these issues. Finally, we evaluate the performance of our proposed scheme through the simulation experiments.
