Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In ubiquitous WLANs, Mobile Nodes (MNs) are likely to execute handovers between WLANs with different IP subnets during VoIP (Voice over IP) communications. So far, we proposed the handover management scheme based on the number of frame retransmissions to maintain the VoIP communication quality during handover. The previous work focused on only wireless link quality during movement. However, in VoIP communications, the packet loss and queuing delay experienced in an access point severely degrade the VoIP communication quality due to increase in the number of MNs and the effects of multi-rate WLANs. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a handover management scheme based on estimation of AP queue length to avoid the degradation, and evaluate the performance of it through simulation experiments.
