Absorption Characteristics of Wave Absorber Using Periodically-Arranged Short Carbon Fibers

Abstract(in English) In the previous study, we examined a λ/4 type wave absorber using periodically-arranged short carbon fibers from 1GHz to 12GHz under vertical incidence, and obtained the matching frequencies of about 4.5GHz and 7.0GHz and the wideband absorption characteristics of 20dB at the frequency band from about 4.0GHz to 7.5GHz. In this study, in order to figure out the detailed absorption characteristics of the absorber, we measured the absorption characteristics under oblique incidence. We obtained wideband absorption characteristics and two matching frequencies under oblique incidence as well as under vertical incidence, slight shift of lower peak absorption and big shift of higher peak absorption with incident angle.
