Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The combination of LDPC codes and sum-product decoding algorithm can achieve performance near the Shannon limit. However, the conventional sum-product decoding algorithm assumes memoryless channels. For channels with memory such as burst error channels, an algorithm which is different from the sum-product decoding algorithm for memoryless channel is needed. In this study, we propose and evaluate a new decoding algorithm for burst error channels based on decoding order. We show that the decoding characteristics of the proposed algorithm is better than the conventional one for channels with memory.
