Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, there is a growing activity of home networks where various electrical goods are networked with each other. This paper investigates the standardization, patent application, patent pools for the home network, and points out the divergence in standardization, and the lack of the required services. It also shows the very few activity of patent applications on communications between the white electrical goods. On the contrary, a great amount of patents are applied regarding broadcasting, audio and security related products, which shows the possible advantages of progressing standardization and forming patent pools. Furthermore, it points out the importance of hearing the end users' voice since they tend to have a lot of opinions in this field.
