Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Unequal-error protection codes have two or more levels of the error protection capability, and code bits can be protected depending on importance. It is realizable for a single encoder and decoder, and is suitable for utilization. In this paper, we describe relationship between the distribution of bit error number and the structure of UEP-LDPC parity check matrix. Furthermore, we discuss the same feature appearing also in a general irregular LDPC codes. Moreover, using these features, we propose a new decoding strategy for UEP-LDPC codes based on a bit-serial type sum-product algorithm (i.e. adaptive shuffled BP algorithm) and simulation results are presented.
