Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, composite films consisting of magnetic garnet materials and dielectric materials, which were fabricated by aerosol deposition method, were studied for realizing novel magneto-optic materials for shorter wavelength of light near blue region. Inclusion of dielectric material was found to be effective for reducing the optical losses of the film in visible wavelengths. In this study, to materializing novel MO films which are able to operate in blue optical region, magnetophotonic crystals with the composite film as a defect layer were fabricated by the sol-gel method, and their fundamental magnetic, optical and MO responses were investigated experimentally.
