Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An accuracy improvement method for Brillouin distributed sensing system is proposed. We previously proposed a high-resolution Brillouin distributed sensing system called the pulse-prepump Brillouin optical time domain analysis (PPP-BOTDA), which was verified to attain a 10-cm resolution, has a design freedom about the shape of the prepump pulse. We analyze theoretically the relationship between the shape and the measurement accuracy and show that a higher performance is obtained by using a triangular pulse instead of the original rectangular pulse or by separating a prepump pulse from a main pump pulse.
